I got back to Delaware on Thursday, but I'm still not accepting the fact that I'm here for good. I honestly feel like I left my home when I left Paris. It feels like I'm here for the week, and by the weekend, I'll be on the plane back to France. Either that, or I'm having a really long nap and never actually left France to begin with...
But alas, though I keep saying I think I'm going back, I am actually acutely aware that I am in Delaware. Following my usual trend of getting sick at the worst times, I came home with a diagnosis of bronchitis. Unfortunately, that didn't stop classes from beginning today. As per usual, I was running late this morning (even though I gave myself 35 minutes to eat and get ready), so I was in a rush going out the door. Of course, halfway to class - and 12 texts with my roommate about how I was on my way later - I realize I left my clicker at home.
Side Note: For anyone not familiar with the clicker, it is both the best and the most stupid invention I have ever laid my hands upon. It's basically a remote control that has keys saying A, B, C, D, & E. You hook it up to your school's network, and then professors can take attendance or have little quizzes during class. It's amazing because it gives you free points. It's absolutely dreadful because when you forget it, you have this internal struggle in your mind (I also have the external struggle, where your feet go in opposite directions - towards home, and towards class - I probably look really dumb). Are these three measly points worth going all the way back home to get the clicker? And then I think about how I might just blow an exam and get a 70% and those points, those THREE MEASLY points will matter then.
So, I had my nice little struggle out of the way by 8:40 AM. I guess I should consider myself lucky - most people have their struggle in the middle of the day (silver linings). I had to sprint home (remember, I have bronchitis) , get my clicker, and then finally go to class.
Which brings me to theatre class. Someone tell me why I thought this was a good idea. In the first five minutes, someone in the front row got up and did one of Shakespeare's monologues. And then the professor babbled for the entire class, only stopping to make fun of people walking in late.
I got around to visiting my high school photography teacher, and not much has changed there.
I finally folded the clothes that have been piling up on the end of my bed... Starting to prepare packing to go back to school. Not that I want to.
Anyone want to go to France?
